Professional cover letter

 

Every employer wants to employ you. They wish you to be the right candidate. The sooner they fill a position, the sooner they start their business. A professionally written cover letter will can make the right impression and employers will notice your CV.

When is a cover letter professionally written?

When it helps you to get noticed. If you write it correctly, it gives you a chance to shine a show that you are the best person for the position.

How to Write a Cover Letter

  • It should “sell” your skills and experience in a way that precisely corresponds to the offered position.
  • It should be clear, brief and factual.
  • Offer precisely what the job description requires and use key points from your CV.
  • Use the cover letter to pave your way.
  • Mention a summary of your work experience to show your motivation and enthusiasm.
  • In the last paragraph, summarize your suitability for the position.
  • If appropriate, mention recommendations that you can provide on request.

Form and other options of self-promotion

  • If you decide to send your CV electronically, use the format of Microsoft Word document.
  • Try not to exceed one page
  • Use an easily readable font and font size (we recommend Arial, size 9pt.).
  • If the advertisement does not include an email address, mail your CV and cover letter printed on quality paper.
  • In the letter, state the name of the recipient, the job title, the name of the company, and the full address in the upper left part; state your name, address, telephone number, and email address in the upper right part of the letter.
  • Enter the date just above the salutation.
  • Try to obtain the name of the recipient
  • Address the recipient “Dear Sir/Madam” and add their surname and academic title.
  • Use bolding or underlining to highlight the job title or the reference number of the position and insert it right below the salutation and before the first sentence.
  • Conclude the letter with a polite closing such as “Sincerely”.
  • Sign the letter by your own hand and write your full name under the signature.
